Each June, I pack my bags and hop on a plane toward Sin City with just two things on my mind: the latest and greatest in jewels and gems — and the hotel robes at the Wynn Las Vegas.
The Couture Show in Vegas showcases the absolute finest the jewelry world has to offer — which I’d equate to a jewelry lover’s Christmas Day. Not only do I get to reconnect with my favorite designers and see what’s new for them, but I’m also able to discover new favorite designers, lines and styles — all while touching and feeling pieces I’ve seen pictures of (and dreamt of) for weeks. It’s part jewelry show, part circus, and part cruise ship — and I love every minute of the invitation-only affair.
I sent out an email to subscribers last week offering a quick sneak peek at this year’s show, but there’s lots more where that came from…
You can thank Vegas for some of our most iconic Be on Park favorites… for example, the Kwiat Starry Night necklaces first caught my eye among the rows of gems at Couture, and we’d be remiss to leave the show without one of Suzy Land’s one-of-a-kind turquoise heart necklaces. (Yes, Starry Night necklaces of all sizes, styles, and price points are available to be custom-made, and this year’s pendant from Suzy is still up for grabs.)
As for what’s new this year… How long do I have? Listen, there’s no shortage of jewelry in the world, and it’s my firm belief that everyone should wear what speaks to them. But if what speaks to you happens to be a little wild and crazy, that makes me extra happy…
The show was filled with color and sparkle (rainbows galore!), but I’m always on the lookout for what’s sure to stand out. This year’s show was chock-full of pieces meant to make some serious statements. And what’s better to talk about than Talkative jewelry? Yes, really — we now carry the stunners from Talkative Atelier, and these earrings are sure to start some convos.
What else is coming down the pipeline? Glad you asked. New Lauren K pieces are ready for their forever homes, and some new Oscar Heyman earrings (and a classic bracelet for your collection of staples) have arrived. Floral shapes are ruling the day, rainbow color patterns are around every corner, and we’ll simply never stop loving diamonds.
As much as we love the newness, there’s something about going back in time… A vintage show was happening simultaneously with the Couture show, and I couldn’t help but stop over a few (hundred) times. The result: A fresh crop of vintage pieces ripe for the picking.
